Paperville Panic Review – Great Action Adventure Despite Minor Bugs

There are quite a few interesting VR games well worth exploring. Even the indie titles are well worth looking into these days. Paperville Panic is definitely one of the games which would fly under most people’s radars these days. It is a hilarious game which mixes crafts with fire and cartoonish graphics. The game is currently available for the HTC Vive at the price of $14.99.

Paperville Panic is Quite fun in General

One thing most VR gaming enthusiasts can agree on how we need more action adventure games. It is uncanny how few decent games there are for the VR platforms these days. Paperville Panic fills the gap pretty well, although it is not something most people would pick up right away. During your gameplay, you will meet a lot of hilarious and silly characters. As the name of the game suggests, they all exist of paper, and mixing them with fire is a very horrible combination.

The goal of this game is to act as a firefighter. This may not sound overly exciting, but considering how the entire game world is made up of paper, it becomes a pretty steep challenge right off the bat. Dousing flames is only part of the challenge, mind you, as you also need to rescue people, break into buildings to ensure no one is left behind, and douse people who are effectively on fire already. There is a lot to do in Paperville Panic, and it all makes for a great experience.

Putting out fires in this game is not done through water hoses whatsoever. Instead, you are armed with a water pistol. It may not make a lot of sense right away, but it certainly helps spice things up quite a bit. There’s also a gun and an axe which are sued as your main tools to rescue people. During your gameplay, you may encounter a few bugs, though. That is to be expected from an Early Access title, Nothing breaks the game in any way, though, but it’s something you have to be aware of at all times.

There is nothing to dislike about Paperville Panic other than the current minor bugs to contend with. The visuals are very pleasing to the eye, it has great audio, and the gameplay itself is pretty fun. Moving around in the game, on the other hand, may prove to be a big challenge, as the teleportation system doesn’t always work as well as one would expect. If the developers make a few minor adjustments in this regard, the game will even become more appealing in the coming months.
