VR technology has penetrated the entertainment market in a big way within the past couple of years. Now Oculus VR is trying to bring together the world of Marvel superheroes with virtual reality by offering a combo-deal just prior to the launch of its latest flagship game, ‘Marvel Powers United VR’.

As the name already implies, the game will feature a host of heroes from within the Marvel universe. Each of these characters will be playable in a co-op narrative-focused brawler. The game is scheduled to be released on the 29th of this month.

About the Deal

In order to further spread the adoption of VR gaming as well as to promote this new project, Oculus, the company that funded the production of this game, has announced that they are offering a retail bundle of $399 that will come with a free copy of the game, a Rift headset, and two Touch controllers.

It is worth noting that the Oculus Rift headset alone is worth $399 and the Marvel Powers United VR is slated to retail for $39.99.

Final Take

For gaming enthusiasts looking to venture into the world of VR, this deal makes perfect sense. Not only do gamers get to play a title that features a solid range of VR experiences — from multiplayer co-op play to story-driven single-player missions — but they also get to play as their favorite Marvel characters, including Black Widow, Captain America, the Hulk, Spider-Man, Storm, and Wolverine.
