With the holidays almost upon us, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for VR. It is possible we will see far better sales compared to the previous years. This will mainly be attributed to the rise of augmented reality as well. Both digital and physical sales are expected to increase in the next few weeks. It will be quite the challenge for retail staffers as well, that much is rather evident.

VR Sales are Expected to Boom

The past few years have not been amazing for virtual reality sales whatsoever Although VR headsets somewhat do well, digital sales are still problematic in every we can imagine. Retailer staffers will face a ton of new challenges in this regard this year. With more consumer interest, it will be interesting to see how things will evolve. Bargain hunters will keep a close eye on the VR and AR products, to say the very least.

We can only hope most retailers will prepare their staff for VR sales and questions in the coming weeks. Oculus Rift headsets are already being used as part of regular staff training in the retail sector right now. Handling difficult customers will become the new normal as far as this industry is concerned. It will also be difficult to bring new experiences to consumers in a convenient fashion. There are tons of opportunities to be explored, but only the bravest of retailers will seize the moment.

Despite all of these challenges, it is expected the number of VR-related sales will increase. Augmented reality sales will benefit as well, mainly in the form of holiday cards or some interesting experiences during the family gatherings over Christmas and New Year’s Eve. There are also plenty of gifts to choose from, ranging from VR and AR headsets to games, gadgets, and everything in between.

A recent study by Global Web Index shows how Millennials favor VR gadgets right now. Mainly headsets are still in high demand, and there is quite a price gap to take into account as well. A lot of manufacturers will have special bundles on sale to provide some decent content from day one. It will be a very interesting holiday season this year, that much is almost guaranteed.
