Even though top-of-the-line VR headsets are a lot cheaper right now, they are still on the expensive side of the spectrum. As such, most teenagers will struggle to afford a VR headset let alone the system they need to power such tools. Instead, VR arcades will become a lot more popular in the months and years to come. With most arcades providing decent experiences at more than affordable prices, there is no reason why VR arcades will not take off in the future.

The Future Looks Bright for VR Arcades

No one will deny there is a certain appeal to VR arcades. Anyone can enjoy the benefits of virtual reality without owning a headset or expensive computer or console. Even though there is a fee to pay for this convenience, most locations offer competitive solutions. Some of the VR arcades we have mentioned in previous articles offer an hour of game time for as little as $50, which is more than acceptable.

With more and more teenagers showing an interest in VR, it is only normal arcades will thrive even more. Especially the younger teens struggle to find something to do with their time. Sitting at home while playing video games is convenient, but it is anything but social. Most older readers remember the heyday of gaming arcades where we would compete against other teens. It seems virtual reality will rekindle that flame.

Yokey Pokey VR Arcade’s George Casseus comments:

“There’s not that much you can do if you’re 13, 14, 15, 16 after school aside from if you don’t play sports. You just don’t want your kids to play video games at home. They come here. They play with their friends. They do more active things inside of here as well.”

It is evident a lot of interesting changes will come of this. While this will not negatively impact domestic VR headset sales in the slightest it will have a different kind of impact. Virtual reality may become the “gaming medium” to embrace the social aspect once again. Over the years, gamers have become more isolated and even shunned because of their preferences. With VR gaming on the rise, it is almost “cool” to be a gamer once again. A remarkable trend that will create a ripple effect on a global basis.
