Virtual reality is a booming industry as of right now, even though not everyone sees the merit of this technology. While consumers remain on the fence about buying a VR headset right now, it is evident there are a lot of opportunities in other consumer-oriented projects as well. In Dubai, for example, we will soon witness the launch of a VR park. It will be hosted in the Dubai Mall, which makes this venture even more interesting.
Dubai Prepares a VR Park
It is quite interesting to see how different countries and companies want to explore consumer-oriented VR experiences. Rather than just focusing on regular apps or games for at-home consumption, a virtual reality theme park will certainly raise a lot of attention. More specifically, we see a similar venture in China, where a VR theme park will be erected to host several dozen attractions. It seems the venture in Dubai will be on a smaller scale, even though it remains unclear how vast this project really is.
All we know so far is how the theme park will set up shop in the Dubai Mall later this year. There will be a strong focus on combining augmented and virtual reality into one massive experience for locals and tourists to enjoy in the future. It is evident this particular venture will mainly focus on tourists, although we won’t know for sure until the park effectively opens its doors to the public. With no official ETA communicated at this time, it will be interesting to see what the future holds.
Immersive rides, educational journeys, and interactive games will be the main bread and butter of the Emaar Entertainment park. Dubai is a country where innovative technology can genuinely thrive, and virtual reality will be no exception whatsoever. That doesn’t mean this new VR park will appeal to the masses right away, but it doesn’t hurt to give this venture a genuine try in this day and age.
Considering how this VR park will encompass two levels of the Dubai Mall, there will be a strong focus on providing many different experiences. Attractions will offer a multiplayer experience, which will be effectively useful for the rollercoaster ride among other things. Moreover, users can interact with one another as well, which will only enhance the overall experience in the future. It will be quite interesting to see what this venture entails in the end, yet it is certainly something to look forward to.
