VR Technology Begins Taking off in the UAE

Many different regions around the world can benefit from embracing virtual reality technology. The United Arab Emirates may be the nation to lead the charge in this regard. Many different industries are embracing this concept, including businesses and even the public sector.

The UAE and VR Technology

It is evident there is a bright future ahead for virtual reality technology. While VR is still in the early stages of development, it is already making inroads in the UAE as we speak. This change was not entirely unexpected, although the growing interest from the public sector took on rather epic proportions fairly quickly. With interactive VR games coming to market, the future certainly looks interesting.

Most people still envision VR as an entertainment system first and foremost. While that is neither correct nor incorrect, it does mean the number of use cases may remain limited for some time to come. At the same time, businesses have begun paying more attention to what this technology has to offer as well. In the UAE, such efforts are underway, although no major changes should be expected overnight.

VRstudios CMO T Ron Ravid comments:

“We found that many commercial enterprises will take time to evolve their operations to include immersive technologies and truly understand the impact VR can have on lowering cost, improving profit, shortening time to market, reducing change orders, and improving customer satisfaction and competitiveness. Meanwhile, the location-based entertainment world was beating on our door. LBEs understand the value and see it as a key element of bringing guests to locations to experience something they cannot get at home, in many cases something exclusive to the venue.”

Few people had expected the Middle East to become such a hotbed of VR and AR activity at this early stage. Even so, it is a market expected to grow to several billion dollars in 2020. This growth will be achieved mainly through growth in the B2B industry, mainly thanks to distribution and manufacturing.
