The United Arab Emirates have shown a great desire to involve in many different ways. It now seems the local Pro League will broadcast full live soccer matches in VR to fans around the world. Known as the AGLeague VR Seat Experience project is a major development for fans all over the world. It is also another example of how more and more sports are making their way to VR as a whole.
The UAE Soccer League in VR
We have seen a great interest in VR by the various sports leagues all over the world. It seems fans of football would like nothing more than to get an even more immersive experience overall. Fans of the UAE Pro league will get exactly that. The current plan is to broadcast full live soccer matches in VR to fans with an IOS or Android mobile device.
Through the AGLeague VR Seat Experience, users will be able to watch games all over the world. E-Vision and Media Pro hold the exclusive broadcast rights, but Etisalat will sue the content and broadcast it in VR. It is an intricate scheme that will set a very intriguing precedent for the entire world. It also shows the way we watch sports is certainly changing as we speak.
The football games themselves are recorded with multiple cameras. Soccer fans can use different VR angles, including on the sides of the field or behind the two goals. The native app also has a replay function and various statistics fans may be interested in. Live broadcasting is definitely something different compared to highlights and recording in VR, that much is evident.
It is evident we will see more live sports games in virtual reality moving forward. When that will happen exactly, is a different matter altogether. It remains to be seen how the average consumer will respond to this development. Being able to watch a completely different league in VR is certainly exciting, for obvious reasons.
