Contrary to what people expect, Naughty America envisions a bright future ahead for porn in virtual reality. During CES 2018, the company demonstrated some interesting concepts. More specifically, the company has come up with a way to offer adult content to only adults. Moreover, the company now has over 200 VR titles, each of which run for 45 minutes or slightly longer. It is an interesting evolution of the adult industry, and VR will continue to play a big role for quite some to come.
Naughty America has big Plans for Virtual Reality
It is evident the adult entertainment industry has grown significantly thanks to new technologies. The introduction of VHS, DVDs, Blu-rays, and now virtual reality have all made a positive impact. Naughty America is reaping the rewards from taking the open-minded approach to VR adult content. With over 200 titles in their library as we speak, they are by far the biggest VR adult content provider in the world right now.
It doesn’t end there, though. The company acknowledges an important first step has been taken, but they still have a lot of work to do in the future. More specifically, there is a growing demand to produce videos from a female point of view. In virtual reality, most interactions are still filmed from a male’s point of view, but that situation will come to change, by the look of things. Moreover, the concept of VR pornography has introduced some new “layers” to the content. It is surprising to see how much Naughty America puts into their VR content creation these days.
To be more specific, the company unveiled their new VR camera during CES 2018. It can capture video at 60 frames per second at 5.6K quality. Given how most new VR headsets are switching to 4K quality and beyond, it seems those extra pixels will be put to great use sooner than most people would expect. The content produced using this new VR camera is on a very different level compared to what most people are used to right now. It’s immersive in a very different way, which is what the company hopes to provide more of in the coming years.
When it comes to which VR headsets consumers use to browse Naughty America, it seems the Oculus Rift is by far the most popular. Samsung’s Gear VR and Google’s Cardboard are also very popular devices. Even though things are looking good for the VR adult content industry, there are still some major challenges. First of all, VR headsets are still too annoying to wear for longer periods. Additionally, adult content creators can’t get their apps listed in VR app stores. That is another problem which needs to be overcome sooner rather than later. For now, Naughty America will develop age-verification technology to ensure only adults can gain access to their content.
