Not too long ago, it became evident Dubai would get its very first VR theme park. This venue would set up shop at The Dubai Mall, although few details were known as the time of the announcement. With the park opening its doors this week, we now have a better overview of what visitors can expect exactly.
Dubai’s VR Park Looks Pretty Neat
To make virtual reality appealing to the masses, consumers need to access this technology at an affordable rate. It is also pertinent to keep the social aspect in mind at all times. As such, we see Dubai’s very first VR park open its doors. It offers a wide range of games to be explored in virtual reality, with a strong focus on providing enjoyable experiences to all demographics.
Considering how the park is located on the second level of The Dubai Mall, it is always interesting to see what visitors get in return. With a surface of 7,000 square meters to play around with, the vast number of different VR offerings is pretty impressive. The Burj Drop will undoubtedly be a big hit, as it lets users propel down the side of the Burj Khalifa in virtual reality. Combined with the Dubai Drone taxi experience – which is pretty much a rollercoaster in VR – there will be plenty of screams and squeals.
Those who want to take things one step further can check out the Plummet attraction. It provides an indoor skydiving experience in virtual reality, a trend which is seemingly becoming more popular all over the world. For fans of spiders, scorpions, and snakes, Dune Bash is also worth checking out. It is a very different approach than one would expect, yet the initial feedback seems to be rather positive.
Children are not overlooked in this VR park either, mind you. Geminose: The VR Carousel will be of great interest to younger children. Those a bit older can fight against supernatural creeps in The Raft. Other games to check out include PayDay 2 VR heist and The Walking Dead: Outbreak. There is a little bit of everything for everyone, and more experiences and games will be added over time.
