Getting more people excited about VR and AR content creation is not going as smoothly as initially assumed. With the new MixCast 2.0 software, that process may become a lot easier. It removes the need for an expensive setup cost, as it can simply remove the need for green screens and other tools. While not a perfect solution either, it’s still a step in the right direction.

MixCast 2.0 Changes the Game

Under the hood of the MixCast 2.0 software, users will be greeted with the WildKey technology. For those who are not familiar with this concept, it allows streamers, producers, and casters to isolate subjects within a frame without the need for a green screen to remove backgrounds. It natively supports recording, streaming, and timelapse footage throughout the VR app.

All one really needs to begin is a VR-ready PC, a compatible headset, and a camera connected to that computer. It still requires a hefty investment but far less compared to buying a green screen, getting cameras, lighting setups, and so forth. It may even introduce a lot of new people to streaming and broadcasting in general.

Blueprint Reality CEO and co-founder Tarnie Williams states:

“We’ve really worked on the ease-of-use aspects of MixCast for this release. No experience is necessary, but those with an eye for cinematography will find it put to good use with MixCast 2.0.”

There will be future upgrades to the MixCast software. New features will include deeper cinematographic tools, output options, and support for additional VR hardware and cameras. This is all mainly based on customer feedback, as the users help shape the future of this software moving forward.
