Forging partnerships is critical in any industry. The virtual reality industry is no exception in this regard. A new partnership between Nokia and VR Education aims to usher in a new era of teaching and corporate training. A very big development which can be quite lucrative for both parties involved.
VR Education and Nokia Join Forces
It is always interesting to see what Nokia is up to these days. Although the Finnish company continues to build mobile phones first and foremost, they are also looking toward the VR industry at this time. Their new partnership with VR Education shows the technology giant sees merit in virtual reality. That is quite interesting, considering how much this industry has struggled over the past few years.
The main purpose of this partnership is to explore new opportunities in the world of teaching and corporate training. Especially this latter segment has been quite lucrative where VR is concerned, as numerous companies explore training opportunities. VR Education and Nokia are now commercializing their in-house built software for this specific purpose.
By using this software, companies and educators can create their own virtual reality content. This includes recording movements and audio, which can be used for many different purposes. The software has been developed for over two years, and it will now come to all major VR headsets. That list includes the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, among other devices.
Through partnerships like these, the virtual reality industry will see some growth over the coming years. As it becomes easier to create virtual reality content, the industry will continue to evolve as a whole. Although it remains to be seen how this will play out exactly, it is a positive trend for VR companies and service providers.
