In the world of virtual reality gaming, there are great titles and games we would rather forget existed in the first place. Final Approach for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift has been out for some time now. It is also one of the few flying games available to VR users right now, which is somewhat surprising. For the price of $14.99, you get an excellent game with much content and an experience that is suited for both individual players and groups of friends.

Final Approach is an Excellent Flying Game

In a way, everyone should be surprised there aren’t any more flying games in the virtual reality world right now. Final Approach was released almost 18 months ago and it still holds up well compared to other offerings in this genre. In fact, it is a far more enjoyable experience than most of us had expected in the first place, making it an excellent game in our book. Although flying games aren’t necessarily known for easy controls, this game does the job just fine in this regard.

Your objective is to effectively land planes and helicopters without causing any damage to the environment. While that may sound easy enough, it is anything but. More specifically, there is a slow difficulty curve to contend with, which also provides some variety to the overall game. Not that it would have gotten boring otherwise, but variety is the spice of life, after all. The motion controllers of your VR headset are used to direct traffic, so to speak. There is also an option to exert more control over vehicles using the gamepad.

Rest assured you will feel almost as if you need a third and fourth hand to keep everything moving accordingly. With so many things to do and a wide range of content to enjoy, Final Approach provides the most value gaming value for money we have seen in a VR title of this genre. With its cartoonish graphics and excellent audio, it legitimately feels as if you are controlling the planes and helicopters in this strange city. There is no boring moment while playing the game, and it is one of those titles you can pick up again in the future without feeling any sense of repetition.

All things considered, Final Approach is one of those games everyone has been waiting for, yet few people know it exists. Being able to guide planes and other aircraft yourself is a pretty interesting experience, especially in virtual reality. What is even more enticing is how this game can effectively be played by the entire family, or just on your own, depending on your current mood and preference. For the price of $14.99, there is nothing to dislike about the game.
