Physics-based puzzle games are seemingly made to be enjoyed in virtual reality. Bounce is one of those great games which takes this entire concept to a whole new level. This game is currently available for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. It is advised to play this game in a large room while standing, as the game shouldn’t be played while sitting down.
Bounce is an Excellent Physics-based Puzzle Game
Any game focusing on the puzzling aspect is always a win in our book. That is unless the game itself is so easy one could almost complete it with their eyes closed. Thankfully, Bounce doesn’t fall into this category, as the gameplay is incredibly addictive. Every single puzzle is different from the previous one, which is a nice change of pace. Although the concept looks like it is a game for young children, the difficulty can pick up rather quickly, but in a fun manner.
With around 50 levels to enjoy in total, there is more than enough content in Bounce to keep players satisfied for several hours. We have seen some VR puzzle games which only lasted an hour or two, but Bounce keeps you engaged for a few days. The physics-based aspect is done extremely well and you will need to use different objects to reach the goal. Said objects can be placed and moved around as well, which means players have to think twice about how they aim to handle things exactly.
What makes these levels so interesting is how the rules change on a regular basis. Some levels have no gravity, whereas others have targets so far away you feel like they are unreachable. It is a matter of trial and error, as you will learn a lot from previous “mistakes’ along the way. It is not the game for people who don’t like a mental challenge, though, yet there are multiple ways to successfully reach your goal in the end.
In the end, we had a lot of fun playing Bounce and we thoroughly recommend it to other VR enthusiasts with eligible headsets. The approach isn’t entirely unique by any means, but it is executed very well. The challenge shouldn’t scare anyone off either, as there have been far too many easy games as of late. Bounce is an excellent addition to the VR gaming industry and we are looking forward to whatever the developers bring us next.
