Virtual reality gaming is all about having a good time and getting rid of pent up emotions. That latter part is much easier said than done, though. Gorn is one of those games which can help achieve this goal, even though it is quite an aggressive game. Although it looks cartoonish, the gore levels are off the charts at some points. It is still one of the most fun games you can play today, though.

Gorn is Fun, Bloody, and Exhausting

Although the name would not necessarily suggest it, Gorn is a gladiator simulator for players to enjoy. It is not about the background story or anything like that, but more about gory hacking and slashing. Players looking for a game with a deep character build up and convincing story may want to pass on Gorn, but for everyone else, it is an absolute blast if you just want to swing weapons and decapitate opponents.

Speaking of decapitating opponents, that is what you will spend most of your time doing. As one would expect from a gory game, your VR controllers will have a hard time keeping up with the demand. In fact, we even destroyed one of our controller sin the process, but it was more than worth it. Gorn is available in the Steam Store where it can be purchased by owners of either a HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. Both VR headsets have sturdy controllers, but they will take a beating regardless.

In terms of pure battle action and fun, Gorn has no equal in the world of virtual reality right now.  The first time you face an opponent in the arena is a bit of a nerve-wracking moment, but that is to be expected. It is also a credit as to how realistic Gorn feels, are your opponents will be in your face pretty quickly. Players will also need to defend against incoming attacks, which includes blocking, ducking, and countering whenever possible. All things considered, the battle system is one of the better ones we have seen to date.

People who enjoy cartoonish gory animation will have an absolute blast with this game. It can be rather difficult to put down as well, even when your body is aching badly. There is no rest for the wicked, that much is evident. People looking to get  a workout done in virtual reality may want to pick this game up as well. The crazier your combinations get, the better Gorn will reward you. Definitely worth picking up,especially considering it comes with such a low price tag.
