Hoops VR Review – Get Ready to Play Some Ball

Playing sports in virtual reality can be quite fun. In most games, one would find themselves playing some type of sport that will never exist in the real world. Hoops VR shows it can be quite entertaining to shoot some hoops in virtual reality. It caters to both novice players and ballers alike. The game is available for the HTC Vive right now and is certainly worth checking out.

Hoops VR is all About Having fun

While we do love a competitive sports game as much as the next person, it is nice to see something entirely different in this regard as well, More specifically, Hoops VR is all about shooting basketballs through free throws. Outscoring the opposition is of the utmost importance. There is an option to play against friends locally or use the online leaderboards to trump other fans of the genre. It’s not the most advanced game, but it simulates the act of a free throw quite well.

As one would expect from an HTC Vive game, Hoops VR requires users to use the motion controls to shoot basketballs into the ring. The action itself feels quite fluid, although it takes a bit of time to get used to at first. After all, if you’re used to holding  a ball, the VR experience can’t exactly simulate that same feeling. It still does the job quite well and results in one of the most entertaining basketball games we have played in several years.

The fact you can compete against other players around the world is a very nice addition. Although it only seems normal for such games to have a multiplayer mode, one also needs enough players to make this work. It is unclear how many people will log into Hoops VR from time to time, considering there are so many other games with an online modus as well these days. We would certainly recommend owners of this game engage in some online contents, as it is quite fun and lag-free as well.

To top it all off, Hoops VR has some offline gaming modes as well Different modes all pose their own challenges to improve the longevity of the game. Even if you completed every mode to the best of your ability, it is worth the effort to keep playing them over and over again. Shooting some hoops is quite relaxing and allows players to take their mind off things. Hoops VR is a great game which we still boot up from time to time.
