VTOL VR is one of those games that comes with a high price tag. For the price of $29.99, most players will certainly have high expectations for this game. It is a game currently available for HTC VIve and Oculus Rift. Although still in Early Access, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about the game.It is a very difficult game, but that is part of its massive charm.

VTOL Takes VR Gaming to a Whole new Level

No one can deny most of the VR games we have seen to date are on the easy side of the spectrum. That is not necessarily a bad thing, mind you, as the games need to be as appealing to as many people as possible. VTOL will not be that appealing to a lot of people, considering how it is one of the most difficult games we have seen to date. For a flight game, it certainly feels far more realistic and immersive than other games in the same genre. It does require players to invest a lot of time, as the learning curve is pretty steep.

As the name somewhat suggests, VTOL stands for Vertical Take-off and Landing. Most aircraft in the world use this method to take to their air and land again safely. It is the first time we see VR game developers effectively focus on bringing flight simulation to the virtual reality industry. This is not an easy feat by any means, mind you, as there are so many details to take into account. In VTOL, it looks and feels as if you are sitting inside a fighter jet.

During the game, players can transition from VTOL to JET mode, which allows users to fly the plane as they would expect. Every flight mode has different uses and a learning curve, which needs to be taken into account at all times. Especially the time during which other jets fly in formation next to your plane is one of the most interesting moments during the first few hours of the game. This is not a simulator aimed at all users, mind you, as it is a very punishing VR game at the same time.

Fans of the genre will certainly appreciate everything VTOL VR has to offer right now. It is not something for everyone, mind you, but it is still worth picking up. For the price of $29.99, there is a ton of content to be enjoyed, especially for an Early Access game. With plenty of missions to complete, and multiple aircraft to be unlocked, there is plenty of value for the money. It is an interesting game the VR world direly needed, to say the very least.
